Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in education play a vital role in addressing societal challenges
and fostering sustainable development. By investing in education, companies cast a positive impact on individuals,
communities, and the overall society. The Multinationals utilize the resources; expertise, and networks. Stakeholders
can design and implement comprehensive initiatives that address specific needs and challenges in the education
sector for the marginalized sections. Companies that prioritize education demonstrate their commitment to social
equity, inclusivity, and ethical conduct. In this background, the present study attempts to highlight the pattern of
education, the progress of educational institutions through employment and renovation, the effect of CSR headed
skill development center in mobilizing rural unemployed towards regular income and also the socio-economic
transformation of the employees appointed in the educational sectors by the company by taking the Multinational
company of CSR initiative of Dalmia Bharat Foundation as a case in context. The researcher utilizes a primary data
collection method taking 60 respondents through purposive sampling in Cuttack, Odisha. The findings suggest that
the company engages in renovation of many school buildings in this area along with toilet blocks for the students
and teachers. Company adopts a private school, recruits teachers and pays salary. There is also evidence of the rise
the income level and improvement in the standard of living of the respondents thereby contributing to empowerment
of the marginalized.
